STEVEN
MIRASOLA

Dreams is quite possibly the most influential game-related software I've ever used. It is a versatile, powerful, and all-encompassing tool that can be used to create everything from music and animation, to films and games all in the same place. Not to mention that Dreams features its own contained social media, which lets users share, like, and comment on the creations of others.
I use Dreams as a major creative outlet for two main reasons. User Experience and Speed. Concepting ideas is exceptionally quick and the act of creating is fused with "play" and often feels like I've been given the tools to create my own Lego bricks, only those Lego bricks can be molded into anything. I am continually inspired by the Dreams community and love how wholesome and heartfelt everything around the game has become.
Below, I've included a fairly comprehensive video gallery of my work that's been made in dreams. Almost everything included has been made by me, with the exception of several music tracks and a few assets, which I'll point out beside each video.
With that said, I'm extremely proud of the work I've created and there's so much more I plan to create with Dreams in the future.
I hope you enjoy what I've done so far! (My most recent work is at the top)

Secure - Development Update
This continues to be a work in progress, but I've made significant improvements to the character, gameplay, presentation, and systems. I'm continuing to design and develop puzzle mechanics that can be mixed and matched when I design new levels.
Sculptober 2021
Similar to Inktober or Sketchtober, I participated in Scluptober in 2021, using Dreams to create a new 3D sculpture or scene every day of October 2021. Each one was based on a different prompt or theme, labelled on each.
Secure - Re-Imagined
WIP. This reimagining of the game is a real-time version that ditches the more confusing turn-based mechanics from the original. I am very happy with my progress so far. I have many of the mechanics working already, and just got Keycards up and running. I'm excited to design some levels around them.
The Cliffs - All Hallows Dreams
This is my submission for this year's Halloween event in Dreams. I played with some of the things that spook me and make the hair on my neck stand up: heights and ancient curses.
Winter Tale (3D Platformer)
Testing some level design ideas for a 3D Platforming collect-a-thon in the style of
Spyro games. I used some tweaked assets from the Dreams Community (stone wall, music) as well as some from Media
Molecule ('Welcome Garden' assets, SFX).
Sunflowers (Photo Gallery)
Sunflowers are a very symbolic flower, personally, and mean a lot to me. I'm really proud of the sculpted seed floret texture in the middle of the flowers and the pastel colours I was able to achieve.
Countryside Road (Photo Gallery)
@disasterzoo creates some wonderfully atmospheric, strikingly beautiful artwork. I was inspired to bring one of her works to life in 3D using Dreams and I love how it turned out! First photo is my recreation, second is her original artwork. Click [This] to see a short fly through of the 3D scene
Genius Puzzle
I was inspired to recreate this amazing tactile puzzle in Dreams. I can't take credit for the brilliant simplicity of its intelligent, design, but I am extremely proud of my ability to create a digital version of this wonderful puzzle game. I have plans to create a buttons only mode in the future.
Tree Temple
This is the result of turning an illustration of mine into a 3D model. I animated the clouds and lighting to give visual life to the scene, and to show time passing.
Stylized Mexican Villa
This small diorama was inspired by similar work by another Dreams community member. I loved the style so much that I decided to give it a try. I love the outcome.
Happier Times (Short Film)
Using both my Pizza Scene and my Kitchen as locations, I created this short film. I also used several assets from the Dreams community, including the music, paintings, and main character Pepperoni Pete (a rigged character) who I adjusted and key-frame animated.
My Kitchen (Photos)
During the 2020 Covid Lockdown, I challenged myself to recreate my house in Dreams. I have the entire house blocked out, but I realized pretty quickly that If I wanted to capture my whole house, I'd run out of memory, so i focused my attention on making the kitchen, one of my favourite rooms. No current plans to work on counter assets like coffee machines or salt shakers.
Pizza
What began as a simple High-Res Pizza sculpt quickly transformed into creating a kitchen around the pizza, complete with a wood burning oven. I would go on to use this scene in a future project.
Cafe Terrace at Night - Van Gogh Recreation
After tackling Bob Ross, I decided to try my hand at recreating one of my favourite Van Gogh's paintings using Dreams. Took me a total of around 3 hours.
The music in this scene is sourced from the community.
Old Man Sherlock
As a long time fan of Sherlock Holmes, I decided to try my hand at sculpting an elderly bust of the character, complete with hat and pipe.
A few variations (lighting, accessories are featured here too).
Stress and Anxiety
This began as a test and has mostly remained that way in a WIP phase. I have ideas on how to expand on this in unique and interesting ways, but it's on the backburner for the time being. I still really love the mood of this scene though.
Ubisoft Motion Capture Studio Toronto
During my internship at Ubisoft Toronto's Motion Capture Studio, I explained Dreams to my coworkers a lot, and one night after work, I built the Mocap Studio in a few hours and showed them the next day. It was great to see their reactions.
DreaMarbl-ympics
Inspired by watching marble olympics videos on YouTube, I created a rudimentary, organic track in Dreams to test out alternate camera methods as well as using real time physics for the marbles.
Bob Ross Painting Recreation 2
My second Bob Ross painting recreation, only this time I employed a different art style that was much more expressive and "painterly" than the first.
Bob Ross Painting Recreation
My attempt at recreating a Bob Ross painting in 3D space using the Dreams Tools.
Rockson and Roxand
Based on a small game jam game named Rockson, about the son of a cliff who falls into the water and tries to return to the surface by using jet streams and debris to climb. Eventually, he meets Roxand, who's a rock that lives on the sand. Ha.
Penguins
After designing a simple Penguin, I decided to use it to make this very short animation.
Music and Pirate Ship are not my assets. I did turn the pirate ship into an underwater shipwreck though.
